At first glance, the overall impression of Inis Oírr tends to be an expanse of grey from the innumerable rock walls that criss-cross the 3km x 2km island.

 I wished to pull the viewer into closer inspection, capturing splashes of colour from native butterflies and bees to displaying the contrast of vivid purples, greens and yellows of wild blackberries, orchids and bluebells. 

Nods to local animals, both working and wild, round out the collection.

I will forever be in awe of the natural beauty of this island and hope that my photos convey some of the joy and reverence I feel.
